Starting August 11th, Snoopy and his alter-ego Joe Cool will move in to Nordic Light Hotel in the form of a design-installation. On October 13th, 15 personal interpretations of Joe Cool will be auctioned out in support of Friends.

2008-11-19	Light Factory – Nordic Light Hotel opens new venue in the heart of the city Nordic Light Hotel has taken over Vasaplan. This week Stockholm’s designer hotel opened its new event arena - Light Factory. A new, ultra flexible venue with a four-metre high ceiling, a top quality sound and lighting system, its own entrance opposite the Arlanda Express train station, opportunities for exposure out onto the street, and a functional but classic design.

2008-11-03	Dark invades Light – a space installation of light Nordic Light Hotel’s new light installation, Light Space, opens on 6 November. Our guest partner is the Belgian design company Dark, headed by CEO Marnick Smessaert. The main attraction in the installation is Spacewalker, Dark’s newly-launched luminous space alien, which descends on the hotel by lowering itself from holes in the ceiling.

2008-10-27	The Nordic Light Hotel in Stockholm has been nominated to “Sweden’s Best Boutique Hotel” in the World Travel Awards 2008 The design hotel, Nordic Light Hotel in Stockholm accepted the prize of Sweden’s best boutique hotel at a gala dinner in Poprad, Slovakia this week. Also during the week Design Hotels voted the Nordic Light Hotel one of the best profiled design hotels in the world.
2008-10-20	Première: fLiM Stockholm hosts Seattle-based artist The Sight Below on 22 October Starting this autumn, fLiM will be held one Wednesday a month instead of once a week, in order to concentrate on bigger, more interesting DJs and VJs, and more live acts. Resident DJ Kristoffer Karlsson, a.k.a. Kliin, will kick off this autumn’s season at the Nordic Light Hotel by introducing the first live act of the season, Seattle’s “The Sight Below”. The première evening will also feature sets by Andreas Tilliander and Knivflickan.

2008-08-08	Fashion week at the Nordic Light Hotel Fashion week 11-17 August at the Nordic Light Hotel will be dominated by the textile installation created for the hotel by fashion designer Diana Orving. Diana Orving will also be unveiling her spring/summer 2009 collection at the hotel on Wednesday. Furthermore, FutureLab and the Nordic Light Hotel invite you to FutureDesignDays’ seminar, “Next Textile”, which will examine and discuss tomorrow’s textile innovations and their commercial consequences. This is the Nordic Light Hotel’s third year as the official hotel for +46, the progressive fashion fair, and Light Bar & Lounge will be transformed into a champagne and whisky bar throughout the week, in cooperation with Moët-Hennesey.
2008-08-07	Fashion designer Diana Orving exhibits textile installation at Nordic Light Hotel Diana Orving, one of Sweden’s most prominent young design talents, has created a textile installation at the Nordic Light Hotel in Stockholm. Using the improvisation-based approach from her clothing design, Diana will create a collection of textile rooms in the hotel’s lobby. The installation is open to the public from August 14 and will remain at the Nordic Light Hotel until the end of October.
2008-06-13	Nordic Light Hotel opens “Light Shop” – foreign visitors meet Swedish design right at the check-in desk This June sees the opening of “Light Shop” in the lobby of the Nordic Light Hotel, a gallery open during the summer where everything is for sale. The hotel’s design team and architect Caroline Heiroth have carefully selected Swedish designer products and modern handicraft items. The shop features everything from furniture to jewellery. The result is a collection of modern souvenirs for the design-conscious traveller.
2008-05-21	Dokument förlag and Nordic Light Hotel introduces “ Graffiti Coloring Book ” A book where you decide what color the graffiti should have. The publishing company Dokument will on Tuesday the 20th of May launch their new book “Graffiti Coloring Book” at Nordic Light Hotel. Over 60 of Scandinavia’s best graffiti artists have contributed with sketches for this, rather different, coloring book. The sketches can be seen at Nordic Light Hotel’s lounge and restaurant during the week.
2008-05-09	SATURDAY LIGHT - four alternating club nights every Saturday at the Nordic Light Hotel Saturday Light consists of four alternating club nights: Socially Hazardous, 24:hours, Kvinnosaksklubben and Playgirlz. Each club runs one Saturday a month, with a varying profile and audience. The one thing that each of these Saturday nights will have in common is that they will feature high energy electronica.

2008-01-31	FRONT at Nordic Light Hotel during Stockholm Design Week During Stockholm Design Week (4-10 February), design group Front will be showcasing a unique installation in the lobby and lounge of the Nordic Light Hotel. The group, which has taken the international design world by storm with concepts such as “Design by animals” and “Sketch furniture”, has exhibited in Tokyo, New York and Milan. The installation will be unveiled on 6 February, and will then be open to visitors and guests until the middle of April.

2006-12-01	Fashion designer Bea Szenfeld’s exhibition ”Paper Dolls” at the Nordic Light Hotel From December 6th, you will be able to see fashion designer Bea Szenfeld’s exhibition ”Paper Dolls” at the Nordic Light Hotel, arranged in association with the Swedish Artists’ Council. The exhibition, which is open to the general public, will continue until December 20th. Bea is exhibiting six of her creations, made of paper.

2006-11-10	Nordic Light Hotel publishes “light book” - Light Moods Nordic Light Hotel has published a book about light entitled “Light Moods”. The central theme of the book is the fact that any colour can be perceived as beautiful or ugly. Light is described as a sensation, where the way it is perceived depends on the mood of the spectator and the situation in which it is experienced. “Light Moods” also describes how light architect Kai Piippo perceives the qualities of Nordic light and how it provided the inspiration for the light design of the Nordic Light Hotel – Stockholm’s design hotel.
