During Stockholm Design Week, design group Front will be showcasing a unique installation in the lobby and lounge of the Nordic Light Hotel.  The installation will be unveiled on 6 February, and will then be open to visitors and guests until the middle of April.

The design group Front, which has taken the international design world by storm with concepts such as “Design by animals” and “Sketch furniture”, has exhibited in Tokyo, New York and Milan. 

The installation, which includes newly-produced furniture by Materia, plays with our expectations and understanding of what we see. This, combined with a distinct preference for pine, will ensure a truly unique experience for guests of the hotel.

Front is made up of four members: Sofia Lagerkvist, Charlotte von der Lancken, Anna Lindgren and Katja Sävström. They work together as a group and their products – the result of joint discussions – provide an insight into the processes and ideas behind them. They have allowed animals to help with the creative process, and have made furniture which collapses after a certain period of time, products which only exist in computer games, and chairs shaped by an explosion. Their innovative approach has won them accolades including the Designer of the Future Award at Design Miami/Basel 2007. The group will move on and exhibit at MOMA in New York later on this spring.
