Nordic Light Hotel focuses on fashion during Stockholm Fashion Week in August 2007. This includes new uniforms for personnel, installations and fashion shows for guests and visitors.

Nordic Light Hotel has long been an arena for design related events and meetings. This is evident during major recurring design events such as the Stockholm Furniture Fair, FutureDesignDays and Formex. The hotel is now making a special effort concerning Stockholm Fashion Week in August.

During the period 13–28 August the hotel’s personnel will receive a styling makeover provided in cooperation with Make Up Store. The hotel itself will also be given a makeover involving new menus, keycards and an updated lobby environment featuring a fashion installation.

The “Rookies” project run by the Swedish Fashion Council celebrates its tenth anniversary and together with Nordic Light Hotel is arranging an installation involving ten selected young designers. The list includes talented and much written-about Swedish fashion designers such as Bea Szenfeld, Pudel and Tönt. The exhibition “Rookies&Players ten times” is open to the public 18–28 August in the lobby of the Nordic Light Hotel.

 “Fashion is a design discipline that it is natural for us to become involved in, being a  design hotel,” says Anders Johansson, President of Nordic Light Hotel. “We open up  our hotel for a number of fashion shows during the year, featuring everything from  well-established names to emerging talent. Fashion shows are also events that give  our guests a different kind of experience, something we are pleased to offer  them.”

Nordic Light Hotel is the official hotel and partner of fashion events organized by Stockholm International Fairs: “Style at Sthlm” and “Rookies&Players”, as well as the progressive fashion show “+46”, that take place during the period 16–19 August.

Each evening, the natural meeting place in town is Nordic Light Hotel’s “Fashion Bar” with its special drinks list for Fashion Week.

Bea Szenfeld will have a show at the hotel on 14 August and the Gunilla Pontén show will be held the following day. The shows are not open to the public but are for invited guests only. However, a limited number of tickets have been allocated for guests of the hotel.
