During the Stockholm Design Week, between the 4th – 10th of February, the guests of Nordic Light Hotel will be right in the centre of things. It all kicks off on the Monday with Light Now, a seminar and party by FutureDesignDays, on Tuesday Elle Decoration will give out their International Design Award Edida, on Wednesday is the opening party of the Swedish Design Group Front’s art and design installation in the lobby of Nordic Light lobby and lounge. On Thursday Swedish Style from Tokyo will make a guest appearance with their new concept at Nordic Light hotel and celebrate with a party.
Light Now is FutureDesignDays first happening since they left the big events and decided to concentrate on small, focused events instead. The day consists of a seminar and ends with dinner, drinks and networking at a big Light Party. Speakers at the seminar will be, among others, light designer Vesa Honkonen and industrial designer James Irving. Moderator during the day is Marcus Faris, ex-editor of Icon Magazine. Elle Interiör will hand out Elle Deco International Design Awards 2008 at a big party during the evening. Winners in twelve design categories have been selected and will be announced during the evening. Opening of Front at Nordic Light Hotel. The Swedish Design group Front , internationally known for their animal furniture and “Sketchfurniture”, will during the event create a whole new interior in the lounge of Nordic Light Hotel. The installation is a flirt with the classical Swedish symbols of forests and wood. Guests and Stockholmers will be able to enjoy the installation from 6th of February until mid April. The evening party is a closed event.
Swedish Style from Tokyo is making a guest appearance in Stockholm during the Design Week . There are plans of developing Swedish Style into a touring Swedish Design event and to kick this off Swedish Style and Nordic Light Hotel invite to a Swedish Style cocktail party on the Thursday evening. The party is a closed event.
For the seventh year running Nordic Light Hotel – Stockholm’s Design Hotel, is the official hotel for the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
