During Nobel week 10-12 December 2008, architects, town planners and lighting designers will be gathering in Stockholm to exchange their experiences and ideas on light and lighting, with a focus on people and their environment. The conference will include a tour of Stockholm, with a focus on light, as well as seminars and debates featuring international speakers such as Kaoru Mende, Roger Narboni and Kai Pippo.

Four different tours of Stockholm, with a light focus, are being arranged for Wednesday 10 December, starting from various different places in Stockholm. Nordic Light Hotel will be hosting the tours, which will throw light on urban environments, comprising a presentation of the hotel's light concept and how we work with light as a feature of interior design. Nordic Light Hotel has been working with one of the conference’s invited speakers, lighting designer Kai Pippo, since the hotel opened in 2001. The other tours will examine such features as floodlighting, park lighting and new technology. 

The conference itself will take place at the Stockholm Concert Hall on 11-12 December, and is being organised by the foundation Ljusforum, in collaboration with Stockholm City, with Nordic Light Hotel as the official hotel.
