International directors, actors, industry names and film-loving Stockholmers will all gather at the Nordic Light Hotel during the 2007 Stockholm Film Festival!

170 films from over 40 countries will be shown during the Stockholm Film Festival 2007, from 15 to 25 November. For the second year running, the Nordic Light Hotel is the official hotel of the Stockholm Film Festival. This is where the audience and the directors come face-to-face over cocktails and industry events, this is where the festival’s international guests will stay and this is of course where the gala party will be held. The Stockholm Film Festival is moving its entire headquarters to the hotel, which will provide the ideal meeting places and service centres for invited guests, the press and the film industry.

“We are Stockholm’s design hotel and we want our guests to be inspiration when they come to us. Stockholmers and international guests alike can come here to eat, drink and meet in an interesting atmosphere. This is where to come if you want to hang on to that film feeling when the film ends,” says Anders Johansson, CEO, Nordic Light Hotel.

The film theme permeates the entire hotel. Its retro style, with roots in 60s James Bond and early science fiction films, is visible throughout the building. The bar and restaurant menus are presented in silver bags, and the staff are dressed in figure-hugging black clothes with shiny accessories. In our bar we serve special cocktails created just for the film festival, which you can enjoy as you drink in the film atmosphere.

A unique white laser has also been installed in the lobby. The Nordic Light Hotel has a permanent light theme, and during the month of November you can see our laser installation in the lobby. It’s a full-colour laser with a four-centimetre thick white laser beam that cuts through the air with the help of mirrors. The laser is both part of the film festival theme and part of the Nordic Light Hotel’s ongoing focus on light art.
