2010-11-11	Stockholm International Film Festival checks in at Nordic Light Hotel – film brunches, bar nights and film quiz The Stockholm International Film Festival is moving into Nordic Light Hotel, the official festival hotel, on November 17th. The hotel will be invaded by film stars, industry folk and film journalists from all over the world. Film enthusiasts will not only be able to see over 180 premieres at cinemas across Stockholm, they can also meet the industry itself at film quiz, film brunches and bar nights at the hotel.
2010-11-09	Satu Andersson - new visionary at Nordic Light Hotel and Nordic Sea Hotel in Stockholm Satu Andersson is taking over responsibility as General Manager for a total of 542 hotel rooms at Vasaplan in Stockholm city. The centrally-located Nordic Light Hotel and Nordic Sea Hotel will be celebrating their tenth anniversary in January 2011. Satu will be taking the hotels forward into the next decade with big plans for developing their individual concepts.

2010-07-21	SNOOPY 60 YEARS - celebrated with a design-installation, charity auction and anti-bullying campaign Snoopy (Peanuts) turns sixty this year - an anniversary that is being celebrated all over the world! Starting August 11th, Snoopy and his alter-ego Joe Cool will move in to Nordic Light Hotel in the form of a design-installation. On October 13th, 15 personal interpretations of Joe Cool will be auctioned out in support of Friends.

2009-12-17	Spectacular New Year celebrations at Stockholm’s design hotel Nordic Light Hotel, famous for its unique lighting, sees in 2010 with a spectacular New Year’s Eve. 2009-06-05	Enjoy Volvo Ocean Race Stockholm will be a stopover port for the world´s toughest sailing competition during June 14-25. Since start in Alicante, Spain in October 2008, the Volvo Ocean Race has covered five oceans and all five continents. The stopover will be the largest event in Sweden during 2009, with up to 1 million visitors expected to visit the Race Village at Skeppsbron in Stockholm.
2009-05-07	Fashion designer Anna Bonnevier will be displaying the concept-based fashion installation “ORB” at Nordic Light Hotel this summer At the beginning of 2008, Anna launched her collection NUMB based on the 90° right angle, and it was awarded the Design S/Swedish Design Award. With ORB*, she refines the concept further and continues her work on geometrical rules by exploring the sphere and circle as a concept and form.
2009-04-17	The Nordic Light Hotel on show this April at the Milan Furniture Fair From 22-27 April, the Nordic Light Hotel will join a number of Swedish designers and manufacturers representing Sweden at the Milan Furniture Fair. The Swedish exhibition will be held at Superstudio Più, focusing on what happens when designers and manufacturers come together, and the ensuing “love story”.

2009-01-28	OMINOUS – a dark installation by Monica Förster at Nordic Light Hotel during Stockholm Design Week This year’s guest designer, Monica Förster, will be creating a spine-tingling atmosphere at Nordic Light Hotel during Stockholm Design Week, with the help of some barbed wire and 1,500 black birds. From 4 February up until April, guests and the general public will have the chance to experience Monica’s installation, which is inspired by Hitchcock’s film, The Birds.

This week Stockholm’s designer hotel opened its new event arena - Light Factory. A new, ultra flexible venue with a four-metre high ceiling, a top quality sound and lighting system, its own entrance opposite the Arlanda Express train station, opportunities for exposure out onto the street, and a functional but classic design.
2008-11-06	DARK invades LIGHT - a space installation of light The Nordic Light Hotel’s new light installation, Light Space, opens on 6 November. Our guest partner is the Belgian design company Dark, headed by CEO Marnick Smessaert. The main attraction in the installation is Spacewalker, Dark’s newly-launched luminous space alien, which descends on the hotel by lowering itself from a hole in the ceiling.

2008-10-20	Première: fLiM Stockholm hosts Seattle-based artist The Sight Below on 22 October Starting this autumn, fLiM will be held one Wednesday a month instead of once a week, in order to concentrate on bigger, more interesting DJs and VJs, and more live acts. Resident DJ Kristoffer Karlsson, a.k.a. Kliin, will kick off this autumn’s season at the Nordic Light Hotel by introducing the first live act of the season, Seattle’s “The Sight Below”. The première evening will also feature sets by Andreas Tilliander and Knivflickan.

Diana Orving will also be unveiling her spring/summer 2009 collection at the hotel on Wednesday. Furthermore, FutureLab and the Nordic Light Hotel invite you to FutureDesignDays’ seminar, “Next Textile”, which will examine and discuss tomorrow’s textile innovations and their commercial consequences. This is the Nordic Light Hotel’s third year as the official hotel for +46, the progressive fashion fair, and Light Bar & Lounge will be transformed into a champagne and whisky bar throughout the week, in cooperation with Moët-Hennesey.
2008-06-10	Fashion designer Diana Orving makes textile installation at Nordic Light Hotel Diana Orving, called one of Sweden’s foremost young design talents, will be creating a textile installation transforming the lobby in Nordic Light Hotel. The installation premieres in connection with the Stockholm Fashion Week starting the second week of August and will remain until the end of October.

The group, which has taken the international design world by storm with concepts such as “Design by animals” and “Sketch furniture”, has exhibited in Tokyo, New York and Milan. The installation will be unveiled on 6 February, and will then be open to visitors and guests until the middle of April. Later in the spring, Front will be exhibiting at New York’s MoMA.

2006-12-01	Fashion designer Bea Szenfeld’s exhibition ”Paper Dolls” at the Nordic Light Hotel From December 6th, you will be able to see fashion designer Bea Szenfeld’s exhibition ”Paper Dolls” at the Nordic Light Hotel, arranged in association with the Swedish Artists’ Council. The exhibition, which is open to the general public, will continue until December 20th. Bea is exhibiting six of her creations, made of paper.
2006-11-10	Nordic Light Hotel publishes “light book” - Light Moods Nordic Light Hotel has published a book about light entitled “Light Moods”. The central theme of the book is the fact that any colour can be perceived as beautiful or ugly. Light is described as a sensation, where the way it is perceived depends on the mood of the spectator and the situation in which it is experienced. “Light Moods” also describes how light architect Kai Piippo perceives the qualities of Nordic light and how it provided the inspiration for the light design of the Nordic Light Hotel – Stockholm’s design hotel.
